When a Study Bible is purchased there are two items that get downloaded: 1) the Study Bible content and 2) the associated translation for that Study Bible.
For example, let's say you purchased the NIV Study Bible. Since the NIV Study Bible contains two items, the NIV Study Bible content downloads and the NIV Bible translation downloads as well.
Study Bibles open up differently than Bibles and Commentaries and so tapping on a Study Bible in the library is not the same as tapping on a translation in the library. Study Bibles have been given their own drawer for their content to be accessed and viewed.
These Study Bible drawers only need to be turned on once and will remain enabled even if you change translations.
Free access to Study Bibles:
- Start your Tecarta Bible
- Tap the gear icon/tab to view the library
- You will see a list of categories. Tap the Study Bibles category to expand it
- Scroll to a Study Bible in a list and tap on its name
- Tap the "Try it" button and you will be brought back to the main Bible view
- You will notice the Study Bible tab (beside the My Settings drawer)
- Tap it to view all the Study Bible features
Here's how to enable a Study Bible that you own:
- Start your Tecarta Bible
- Tap the gear icon/tab to view the library
- You will see a list of categories. Tap on the My Content category to expand it. You should see the Study Bible listed here
- Tap on the name of the Study Bible and you will be brought back to the main Bible view
- You will notice the Study Bible tab (beside the My Settings drawer)
- Tap it to view all the Study Bible features
Now that the Study Bible drawer is enabled, you are free to change translations and the Study Bible drawer will still be enabled:
- Start your Tecarta Bible
- Tap the My Settings drawer (looks like a gear)
- You will see categories. Tap on a category (IE: My Content) to expand it
- You will then see a list of translations/Bibles. Under the Bibles subcategory, tap on a translation name to view that translation.
Notice that even though you changed translations, the Study Bible drawer is still enabled.
Since you changed translations, we recommend changing the translation back to the NIV instead of tapping on the Study Bible. Essentially from the library, tap on the "NIV" instead of the "NIV Study Bible".
This is why when you tap on the NIV Study Bible from the library, you see a popup asking "do you want to turn off the study content...". Again, we highly recommend you tapping on just the NIV (Tecarta blue icon under the Bibles subcategory).
