In order to provide the various features offered in our Tecarta Bible app, our app must be able to access certain aspects of your device (in other words, it must be granted permission).
The permissions listed on the Google Play Store and the permissions shown before an app is installed are warnings to the user to let them know what an app has access to.
The Tecarta Bible allows you to perform trials for Bibles, Study Bibles, Devotionals, and Commentaries. These trials require the user's device ID so that the app will know what device has exhausted the set trial days.
In our app, we also offer an audio feature that allows our users to listen to the Bible. However, we needed to make it so that if the user got a phone call while they were having the Bible be read to them, then the Speech feature would pause and not play while the user answered the incoming phone call. This is why you see the Device ID & Call information permission.
As for the Wi-Fi connection permission, our app allows for the ability to stream Bible translations and commentaries which requires a network (Internet) connection.
Lastly, the permission for running at startup is for our app reading reminder. The Tecarta Bible now offers a daily reminder now. The run at startup permission allows our users to keep their set reminder even if the user's device is restarted (turned off and on),
The other permissions allow the app to install itself on your device so that you're able to read your purchased Bibles offline (without an Internet connection).
