Here's an example of using a Bible reading plan from a Study Bible.

In this example we'll show how to use the "Old Testament Reading Plan" from the Swindoll Study Bible.

First, open the Swindoll Study Bible. (See Reading a Study Bible or Commentary if you need help with that.)

With the Swindoll Study Bible opened, tap "Resources" in the top right:

Then tap Plans at the top:

Then, for this example, tap "Old Testament Reading Plan":

This next part is the most important. The Swindoll reading plans are interesting. They are are set up with Monday - Friday readings, no readings on the weekend.

So, for the plan to work correctly, switched the type to "fixed schedule":

Set the frequency to Monday - Friday, or "weekdays":

You do that by tapping on it, and then tapping on M, T, W, T, and F:

Make sure the start date is set to the date you started the plan, which for this example is Mon, Oct 17, 2022:

If you have devos that were marked completed in this plan in the old app, and you want to import that progress, make sure "Import your progress?" is set to yes:

Note, if you don't have devos that were marked completed in this plan in the old app, this option will not show up.

When all the setting are set correctly, tap "Create Plan" at the bottom:

If it asks if you want to start the plan now, tap "Start":

(Note, it will only ask this if the plan has a devo scheduled for today.)

If you tap "Start" it will switch to the Plans tab and open the devotional for today:

You'll notice the scriptures to read today are links. Tap on "Genesis 15-17" and it goes there:

When you're done reading Gen. 15, at the bottom you'll notice a "Next" button. Tap it to go to the next chapter (or you can swipe left):

Which shows Gen. 16:

When you're done reading that swipe left (or tap Next) and it shows Gen. 17:

And when you're done and swipe left it doesn't show Gen. 18, because the reading plan was Gen. 15-17 and Psalm 5, so it shows Psalm 5:

And when you're done and swipe left, it goes back to the devo's main screen, where you can tap "Mark Complete" at the bottom to mark it complete and close it:

You'll notice now that in the My Plans screen it shows today's devo marked completed:

If you swipe left to view tomorrow, it shows that no devos are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22. That is because the plan only schedules devotionals Monday - Friday:

You could create another plan for the weekend days if you wanted.
